In one handy book, this reference gathers all the necessary information on 14 of the most commonly used dangerous groups of pathogens in biosafety level 3 and 4 laboratories. All the chapters are uniformly structured, with a brief overview of the microbiology, pathology, epidemiology and detection methods for each group. In addition, a whole chapter is devoted to the special biosafety requirements, disinfection, decontamination protocols, accident literature and accident procedures, as well as treatment options for all the organisms. Shaded edging allows instant retrieval of this important part.

The book, entitled “Welfare of farmed fish in present and future production systems”, summarises the view of more than 80 experts in the field of fish welfare, collected over a period of more than five years in an international network entitled “Welfare of Fish in European Aquaculture” (Cost action 867).

The purpose of this report is to make available the outcome of the work of COST Acton 722 ‘Short-range forecasting of fog, visibility and low clouds’, which was carried out from 2002 to 2003. During this period, an inventory of existing forecast methods and ongoing projects was made and an evaluation of requirements from customers and from forecasters was prepared. These results will be used for the next phases of COST Action 722. However, they could be also useful for a wider community interested in the processing of input data (in-situ, satellites), numerical and statistical forecasting and in application purposes.
