Science for Policy workshop
Aiming to offer guidance to running Actions that wish to increase their policy impact, the event on 19 June is structured around the JRC Competence Framework ‘Science for Policy’ for researchers. The training will present participants with a comprehensive overview of success factors, tips, and good practices, covering a range of topics, including when and how to approach stakeholders, effective ways of communicating (complex) research findings relevant for policy, and the need to consider the timeliness of your messaging. The second part of the training will focus on an interactive element, where participants are invited to discuss and exchange ideas about how to develop and effective stakeholder engagement strategy. Last but not least, participants will hear from 3 (Vice) Chairs of COST Actions that have achieved impressive policy impact.
International Scientific Networking workshop
The International Scientific Networking workshop is designed to provide participants with an overview of the European Union’s strategy for international cooperation and the COST Global Networking approach in a changing world. The day will allow reflections on how COST Actions can navigate in the moving geopolitical landscape in a safe and effective way, while focusing on their research and contributing to addressing global (scientific) challenges. The day will equip participants with up-to-date information and the necessary knowledge to engage in effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders, with the aim to promote science-based solutions to pressing global issues. Invited speakers from the European Commission and COST International Partner Countries will contribute to the workshop, which will consist of a series of interactive sessions, discussions, and case studies.
Participation from NSF AccelNet
Project leaders from the NSF AccelNet funded projects will join these workshops as part of the implementation of the COST – NSF AccelNet Memorandum of Understanding.
Registration for these events is possible by invitation only.
