Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology - Zn-Net Special Issue
The Network for the Biology of Zinc (Zinc-Net) was chaired by Profs. Nicola Lowe and Lothar Rink as a European Cooperation in Science & Technology network (COST action TD1304, http://www.cost.eu/COST_Actions/fa/TD1304 ) and is now running as a non-profit association of scientists working on zinc www.Zinc-Net.com. The network includes researchers from agriculture, biochemistry, animal and plant biology, chemistry, human and veterinary medicine and nutrition. The main aim of Zinc-Net was to establish a comprehensive understanding of the role of zinc biology, medicine and general public health and wellbeing by creating a multi-disciplinary research platform that brings together expertise from research groups throughout the COST countries and beyond to stimulate and accelerate new, innovative and high impact scientific research. Ultimately this will benefit the wider society and economy.

COST Action C25 is a large network of researchers aiming at advanced integrated methods for life-time engineering and sustainable construction. The publication of the Action compiles the achievements of the research activities in 28 participating countries and an EU Joint Research Centre in the broad field of sustainability of constructions. Volume 1 covers reports, recommendations, datasheets and case-studies emerging from research on life cycle assessment and eco-efficiency of constructions.
