European Research and Innovation Days 2020

European Research and Innovation Days is the European Commission’s annual flagship Research and Innovation event, bringing together policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs and the public to debate and shape the future of research and innovation in Europe and beyond.
This year, it is a fully virtual event, with the Policy conference and the Science is Wonderful! online exhibition.

COST President Prof. Paulo Ferrão will participate as speaker in two sessions:

• EXCELLENCE & INCLUSIVENESS a Widening strategy to advancing Europe together. Excellent EU R&I systems needs all silicon valleys across Europe to connect ensuring a reciprocal access to excellence and to maximise the spill-over for other actors in the R&I ecosystem to access the excellence produced in those. • HORIZON & MOONSHOT around the same orbit (Tokyo). This session will explore how Horizon Europe and Moonshot will offer new opportunities to strengthen synergies and enhance cooperation between the EU and Japanese R&I ecosystems, in order to face common challenges such as pandemics, climate change, soils, digital transition and ageing societies. 24/09/2020, Hub 7 International Cooperation, 09:30 - 10:15.
