Rencontres Recherche et Création - Histoire(s) en mouvement

Since 2014, the French National Research Agency and the Avignon Festival have organised the Rencontres Recherche et Création. By bringing together artists and researchers from different disciplines, the 11^th edition of these international encounters will help to put into perspective creative works and recent research studies to explore the makings of our societies. It's a new space to share knowledge created with the public.

The arts, fiction and live performance continue to nourish our experience of the world and our thinking, and the scientific approach, through analysis, observation and experimentation, continues to push the boundaries of knowledge. Advances in research are constantly providing new knowledge showing how culture is an essential driver of human evolution and the constitution of societies. More than ever, culture and research must engage their forces of description of the world, reflection and invention.

The ten previous editions have shown how the dialogue between artists and researchers in the human or social sciences and cognitive neuroscience is rich in new scientific perspectives. The confrontation between the different currents of research and the concerns of cultural actors makes it possible to explore the transformations of creation and its social function, and to reflect differently on the present of the world.
