  • December 6, 2021 08:00 - December 8, 2021 17:00

The 6th International Marine Connectivity Conference (I-MarCo 2021), is a joint event organized by the  SEA-UNICORN COST Action - Unifying Approaches to Marine Connectivity for improved Resource Management for the Seas (2020-2021) and the iMarCo initiative (2016-2020).

I-Marco-2021

It will be hold in presential at the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris (France) in December 2021, and combine the final international event of the iMarCo project and the first annual meeting of SEA-UNICORN.

Launched in 2016, the iMarCo initiative (https://wwz.ifremer.fr/gdrmarco/) gathered more than 50 participants from France, UK, Belgium and Greece and aimed at promoting the emergence of collaborative projects to investigate marine connectivity in Europe. The network already covered a broad spectrum of marine science disciplines (physical oceanography, natural tags, genetics and evolutionary ecology, behaviour, tagging, fisheries and aquaculture science). It gave birth to that of SEA-UNICORN, which now involves 35 countries and includes scientists from complementary research disciplines and varied marine stakeholders.

The three days of the event will be dedicated to oral and poster presentations in the field of Marine Connectivity and to the cross group meetings of the four Working Groups of the Action.

Registration and abstract submissions are closed for scientists but interested stakeholders are welcome to join the conference for one or two days, and learn more about Marine Functional Connectivity and the SEA-Unicorn COST Action, which has just been endorsed as a Décade Action of the UN ocean decade.
