COST awareness day in Kosovo

On 19 November COST organised an awareness day in Pristina, Kosovo*. The event took place at the Kosovo National Library and hosted around 60 people who were eager to learn more about COST and COST Actions.

The COST National Correspondent from the Kosovo Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Ms Qamile Sinanaj, gave a very comprehensive overview of the current status of Kosovo’s participation in COST.  Dr Primož Pristovšek, Head of Science Operations, and Katalin Alföldi, Policy Officer, both from the COST Association, presented the role of COST in promoting and spreading excellence and how to participate in COST Actions.

Additionally, two researchers from the University of Pristina highlighted the professional opportunities and benefits from participating in COST Actions. Prof Dr. Avdulla Alija explained his contribution to COST Action hCOMET, a network about the use of comet assays as a human biomonitoring tool. Researcher Dren Gerguri gave an insight on how COST enabled him to include and represent Kosovo in an Action on East European cultures of dissent.
