Are you a researcher curious about fiber science, sustainable materials, food processing waste valorisation or circular bioeconomy?
This training school will be taking place on 10-11 September 2026 at the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
This two-day workshop is designed especially for PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and YRIs who are new to fiber science or would like to strengthen their foundations in the field.
Participants will take part in lectures, practical assignments, an academic publishing workshop, mini poster sessions and networking activities with researchers from across the ENFiber network.
The programme will cover key topics including lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose chemistry, polysaccharides, fiber solubilisation and separation, dietary fibers, hydrogels, textile applications, keratin-based materials and fiber upgrading for colorants and enzymes.
Hands-on sessions will introduce participants to separation techniques, viscoelasticity, spectrometry techniques, hydrogel preparation and skeletal density analysis.
A limited number of funded places will be available for eligible participants under ENFiber's budget.
