This COST Connect event will bring together COST Actions working on cancer research and closely related fields, with the aim of creating a strong networking and exchange platform across the European research landscape. The invited Actions cover a broad spectrum of topics, including cancer biology, early detection, screening, prevention, precision medicine, immunotherapy, advanced therapies, survivorship, training, and patient support. Taken together, they reflect the diversity of expertise needed to address cancer in a comprehensive and collaborative way.
The event is conceived as more than a discussion forum. It will be an important networking moment for the researchers involved, creating space for Action representatives to meet peers working on complementary questions across different disciplines and stages of the research and innovation pathway. By bringing these communities together in one place, the event will help strengthen links between Actions that may not usually interact, despite working on related scientific, clinical, translational, or societal aspects of cancer.
This exchange is especially valuable in the cancer field, where progress depends on stronger connections across research domains, institutions, and countries. The event will support dialogue not only among COST Actions, but also with relevant stakeholders from policy, clinical practice, patient-oriented initiatives, and innovation environments. In this way, it will help connect research-based networks with actors who can support uptake, visibility, and longer-term collaboration.
For the participating COST Actions, the event will offer an opportunity to position their work within a wider European context, identify shared priorities, and explore synergies across themes such as diagnostics, therapies, care, prevention, and implementation. It will also provide a setting to discuss future cooperation, joint activities, and possible new pathways towards external engagement and funding.
By creating stronger links among researchers and between research networks and stakeholders, the event will help reinforce the collaborative potential of the participating Actions. It will therefore serve as a timely and valuable platform for networking, mutual learning, and the development of future connections across the European cancer research community.
Participation in this event is possible by invitation only.
