World Sustainable Energy Days 2015

COST was a partner of the World Sustainable Energy Days 2015, one of the largest annual conferences in this field in Europe, offering a unique combination of events on sustainable energy.

For more than 20 years, experts from all over the world have gathered in Upper Austria to attend the WSED conference . This year the event attracted over 750 participants from 69 countries. The conference makes an important contribution to awareness raising about renewable energy and energy efficiency .

The programme included a series of conferences and technical visits on various topics: Pellets and Wood Chips, Young Researchers and Energy Efficiency, Smart Windows, Nearly Zero Energy Buildings, Energy-Efficient Commercial Buildings, as well as B2B Meetings, a Tradeshow and poster presentations .

On 26 February the ' COST Highlight - Materials and their application for energy efficiency ' was presented.

  • Dr Sarah McCormack talked about 'Next generation cost effective phase change materials for increased energy efficiency in renewable energy systems in buildings (NeCoE-PCM)' - COST Action TU0802 .
  • Dr Monika Rychtarikova focused on 'Novel structural skins: Improving sustainability and efficiency through new structural textile materials and designs' - COST Action TU1303 .
  • Dr Andreas Luible introduced the 'Adaptive Facades Network' he chairs - COST Action TU1403 .
  • Dr Federica Ortelli , COST Science Officer, explained the new COST Open Call .

Their presentations are now available for download on this page, as well as the agenda of the session. 

Conference participants also had the chance to visit the COST information stand to learn more about COST or to become acquainted with the framework for the first time.
