The COST Association and the CAPS Community will organise an interactive workshop on the topic of “Connecting Technologies for the Social Good”. The event will take place on 14th and 15th of February 2018 at the COST premises (Avenue Louise 149, 1000 Brussels, Belgium).

Across Europe, a growing movement of people are exploiting community networks on this topic. The EU funded CAPS programme develops bottom-up solutions to link-up stakeholders’ participation, producer-consumer co-design collaboration, and new forms of decentralized democratic control (such as corporate social responsibility ratings, blockchain, trusted ledgers), supporting pilots around Europe aiming to increase network trust, openness, governance schemes, multi-disciplinarity in developing solutions to pressing problems, such as  the unprecedented hyper connectivity enabled by digital technologies and  the scale up of connected technology for social good in order to face society’s biggest challenges: environmental preservation, reducing inequalities, fostering inclusive and sustainable progress.

This workshop brings together COST Actions and EU funded CAPS project to showcase innovative results obtained so far and offers them a forum to exchange knowledge and experience on future research developments and funding opportunities.

The event is by invitation only.

Further information about this event can be requested via from  Karina Marcus  and  Rossella Magli , COST Science Officers, and  Bart Veys , COST Policy Officer.
