On 10 and 11 April 2019, under the Romanian’s EU Council Presidency, the Committee of Senior Officials (CSO), came together for its 206th meeting at the Polytechnical University in Bucharest.

The COST general assembly was warmly welcomed by the Rector of the Polytechnical University, Mr Mihnea Cosmin Costoiu, and Vice-Rector Mr Tudor Prisecaru, former Secretary of State for Education. The meeting was chaired by the President of the COST Association, Prof. Dr Sierd Cloethingh. The CSO unanimously decided that Dr Josef Janda from the Czech Republic will join as member of the Executive Board as of 15 April 2019 and Ms Brigitte Weiss from Austria will do so as of 22 June 2019.
The CSO unanimously decided to approve South Africa as the first COST Partner Member.
