The CATCOSY 2024 workshop 'Facing challenges on the characterisation of subnanometric metal and metal oxide catalysts and photocatalysts' is organised within the COST Action COnfined Molecular SYstems: from the new generation of materials to the stars - COSY and will take place on 26-27 September 2024 at the CSIC Central Campus in Madrid, Spain. The network aims to provide computational and experimental building blocks for a fundamental understanding of COnfined molecular SYstems, bringing together about 300 participants from 45 countries.
CATCOSY is directed to established researchers, post-doctoral researchers, and PhD students, who are interested in subnanometric science, especially characterisation and understanding of subnanometric transition metal and metal-oxide catalysts and photo-catalysts. The workshop will highlight the need to combine advanced computational tools with experimental synthesis and characterisation techniques. The topics include: synthesis of atomically precise metal clusters in various environments (gas-phase, solution, within helium nanodroplets, and in biologically relevant media), their characterisation via. e.g., transmission electron microscopy and state-of-the-art computational methods (ab initio, DFT and molecular dynamics).
The scientific program is organised in 6 lectures sessions and 1 poster session.
Organisers encourage researchers and PhD students to attend and present posters and deliver flash poster presentations.
Registration for the event is open and free until 31 May, or until the available slots are filled.
