Call for applications to the Intersectionality, Research and Action International Summer School (IRAISS)

  • Deadline to apply
    May 31, 2022 08:00 - May 31, 2022 23:55

One main aim of the COST Action Making Young Researchers' Voices Heard for Gender Equality - VOICES, is to increase visibility of inequalities faced by young researchers and innovators (YRIs) from a gender perspective, an intersectional approach is essential for understanding the multiple dimensions of inequities related to career paths in science and research.

Within VOICES, the topic of intersectionality takes on a cross-cutting dimension, which together with the thematic focus of the first VOICES Summer School, again reflects the importance of the approach for the overall action.

The IRAISS is therefore purposed to explore and build knowledge on intersectional research, theory and practice. It seeks to convene interested scholars, activists and other professionals who seek to grapple with questions and issues of intersectional identity. Particularly, the IRAISS is purposed to engage in solution-oriented discourse that focuses on social justice issues and intersectionality in countries throughout Europe and its colonial legacy.

The IRAISS especially encourages early career professionals to include community activists, faculty and researchers to submit a proposal. In addition, mid-level and experienced professionals are also invited to submit a proposal.

This will be an in-person event, to be held on 12-15 July 2022 at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.
