COST country focus: Slovak Republic

The Slovak Republic has been an independent COST member since 1993 and was previously a member as part of then Czechoslovakia since 1991. The national COST Office is hosted by the Ministry of Education.


To date, the Slovak Republic has participated to date in 263 COST Actions across all Domains.

The country has contributed to increasing knowledge about brain damage repair, the establishment of the European Phosphorus Sciences Network (PhoSciNet), the development of nowcasting techniques, biological control of weeds in Europe, integrating innovation and development polices for the forest sector, looking at the biomedical effects of electromagnetic fields as well as the production and assessment of cleaner metals for industrial exploitation.
