COST country focus: Hungary
Hungary has been a member of COST since 1991. The national COST Office is hosted by the National Office for Research and Technology (NKTH).
To date, Hungary has been involved in just over 450 COST Actions, and has chaired five of these. As part of the Actions which Hungary chairs, they have contributed to following development of new drugs capable of reversing this drug resistance, the development of sustainable industrial chemicals and chemical based consumer products, and setting a new Central and Eastern European media research agenda.
Furthermore, through the COST Actions in which it has been involved, Hungary has contributed to quality assurance in nuclear medicine software, laboratory animal science and welfare, UV-B forecasting, and the use of geographic information systems in climatology and meteorology.
It is not possible here to highlight every area within which Hungary has advanced research throughout all COST Domains, within each Action. More information on all the COST Actions which Hungary both Chairs and participates in can be found on the new COST country page.
This country focus fits in a summer series in which we visit each COST country in alphabetical order to highlight its achievements in the COST Programme.
