Young researchers for forestry research - watch the photos!
COST’s Young Researchers' Forum – organised in conjunction with the 8th Forest-based sector Technology Platform (FTP) Conference 'Inspiring Horizons – A new Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for the Forest-based Sector' – kicked off today in Barcelona, Spain.
With this event, COST aims at supporting young researchers throughout Europe, enhance their networking opportunities and their career development. COST is committed to discover excellence throughout Europe and support young promising teams of researchers.
COST’s Young Researchers' Forum is an initiative by the COST Domain for Forests, their Products and Services (FPS). The event is organised in partnership with FTP and InnovaWood, the European Fibre and Paper Research Organisation (EFPRO) and the European Forest Institute (EFI) and takes place within the framework of the 8th FTP conference.
The joint COST-FTP Forum gives young researchers the opportunity to present results of their research work, and to network with industry representatives at European level. The forum brings together both young and senior researchers, as well representatives from the forestry industry.
COST received an overwhelming number of proposals for this Young Researchers’ Forum. 180 proposals were received by the Organising Committee and evaluated by a panel of five Experts. 20 proposals were selected for oral presentations, and 56 proposals were selected for poster presentations within the programme of the COST YRF.
