COST country focus: Slovenia

Slovenia has been an independent COST member since 1992 and was previously a member as part of then Yugoslavia since 1971. Both the Slovenian Research Agency (SRA) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia (MHEST) are involved in COST.

Slovenia

Slovenia has participated to date in 416 Actions and is Action Chair for four of these in the ICT and MPNS Domains.

Through the Actions which it chairs, Slovenia has helped to advance multimedia data and knowledge management technologies for personal multimedia communication systems and services, improve the physical and electronic properties of thin films, explore self-assembled guarnosine structures for molecular electronic devices and develop new composite materials from inorganic nanotubes and polymers.

Through the COST Actions which Slovenia has been involved in, the country has contributed to increasing energy efficiency in renewable energy systems in buildings, assessing the biomedical effects of electromagnetic files and improving the quality and production of European berries.

Comprehensive information on all the COST Actions which Slovenia both chairs and participates in can be found on the new COST country page.

This country focus fits in a summer series in which we visit each COST country in alphabetical order to highlight its achievements in the COST Programme.
