Exhibition on Sonic Interaction Design - You are invited!

Boom...stroke...aaaaeeeehhhh...swing...crash...beeep! We struggle to put sonic interactions into words - and that is why an exhibition with real examples is the best way to experience this new field of research.

Akousmaflore (2006)

Get your hands - and ears - on interactive works that showcase how sound can facilitate interaction in product design, mobile media, communicating scientific data, interactive art, and more.

Sound can be one of the principal channels conveying information, meaning, and aesthetic/emotional qualities in interactive contexts. The 12 works of this exhibition showcase the use of Sonic Interaction Design within arts, music and design, and also provide examples of sonification for research and artistic purposes.

COST Action IC0601 'Sonic Interaction Design' invites you to the opening of the exhibition on Sonic Interaction Design on Sunday 29 May 2011 at 16:30 at the Norwegian Museum of Science, Technology and Medicine in Oslo, Norway.

The exhibition is supported by The Norwegian Arts Council, COST Action IC0601, and Lydgalleriet. It is produced by BEK - Bergen Center for Electronic Arts in collaboration with the Norwegian Museum of Science, Technology and Medicine.
The exhibition opens in conjunction with NIME 2011: The International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression.
