Climate Change in front of the Lens

Watch a short film on air quality and climate change produced by participants in COST Action C23 Strategies for a Low Carbon Built Environment.

Swiss-German television channel TSR Découverte has published short film on air quality and climate change put together by participants in COST Action C23 Strategies for a Low Carbon Built Environment.

The Action sets out to investigate how carbon levels can be reduced throughout Europe by effectively designing and managing the urban built environment. This involves minimising energy use and associated emissions from buildings and examining the indirect energy impacts of infrastructure developments. A book has also been published the on results of this Action and can be downloaded from the publications section.

As part of their research into cities, geographers from the University of Geneva carried out a survey with representatives from the region of Geneva on air quality, climate and regional development. The short film explains the climate change process in an accessible and educational way, thanks to simple graphics and a few clear messages about this complex global scientific issue.

It also reveals this group’s experiences and opinions and how these compare with reality. It looks at the need for better coordination between scientists, industry, architects, and engineers so better messages can be communicated.
