COST country focus: Israel

Israel has been a COST Cooperating State since 2000, which gives them non-voting membership in the COST Committee of Senior Officials and in the Domain Committees as well as full member rights on the Action level. The national COST Office is hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology

Since 2000, Israel has been involved in just over 270 COST Actions, and has chaired two of these.

As part of the Actions which Israel chairs, they have contributed to a better understanding of fish larval physiology as well as establishing a network to coordinate research on linguistic and cognitive abilities of bilingual children.

Furthermore, through the COST Actions in which it has been involved, Isreal has contributed developing the basis for monitoring, modeling and predicting space weather, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to histamine receptor H4R research, as well as increasing the understanding of the state and potential of forest mitigation and adaptation to climate change in a polluted environment.

This country focus fits in a summer series in which we visit each COST country in alphabetical order to highlight its achievements in the COST Programme.
