COST country focus: France
France has been a member of COST since joining in 1971. The national COST Office is hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in Paris.

To date, France has been involved in almost 800 COST Actions, and has been chair in just over 50 of them. As part of these Actions, France has contributed to reforming social protection systems in Europe and oral facial development and recognition.
Moreover, France has participated in many diverse COST Actions, from criteria for the choice and definition of healthy counters and/or patients for Phase I and II studies in drug development, to improvements of means of control of warble-fly in cattle and goats.
Given the significant participation of France within COST Actions, it is not possible here to highlight every area within which they have advanced research throughout all COST Domains.
More information on all the COST Actions which France both chairs and participates in can be found on the new COST country page.
This country focus fits in a summer series in which we visit each COST country in alphabetical order to highlight its achievements in the COST Programme.
