Networks of Science and Technology – COST exhibition at the European Parliament
From 18 to 20 October 2011, COST will organise a creative exhibition for its 40th birthday at the European Parliament in Brussels, hosted by MEP Pilar del Castillo Vera, member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE). The exhibition will open with a reception on 18 October where Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, will provide a message. Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science and Dr Ángeles Rodríguez-Peña, President of the COST Committee of Senior Officials, will deliver keynote addresses at that time.

Through display panels with COST Action examples, the exhibition will showcase how COST connects young and experienced European scientists, academic institutions, big and small industries and international organisations and how COST has contributed to an innovative Europe for over 40 years.
On 19 October 2011, the exhibition focuses on ‘Preserving our planet!’ while 'Smart cities and the future of communications' and 'Biomedicine & healthy living' are put in the spotlight by invited experts and COST Office Science Officers on 20 October 2011. Quizzes and videos will liven up the exhibition as well.
The exhibition targets Members of the European Parliament, parliamentary staff, staff members from the European institutions as well as key stakeholders of the European Parliament that have the necessary access credentials.
In addition, specific ‘walk in’ moments are organised for external visitors twice a day. For more information, please visit the link on this page.
