Cyprus participates in 203 COST Actions and is the chair of a COST Action in the ICT Domain. Through Cyprus' participation in these COST Actions, it has contributed to managing forests hit by fires in southern Europe, the broadening and enhancement of the potential of GIS to advance research in the fields of climatology and meteorology as well as the advancement of the understanding of UV radiation distribution under various meteorological conditions in Europe.

Through the Action which Cyprus chairs, the country is contributing to develop innovative intelligent monitoring, control and safety methodologies for critical infrastructure systems, such as electric power systems, telecommunication networks, and water systems.

More information on all the COST Actions which tCyprus both chairs and participates in can be found on the new COST country page.

This country focus fits in a summer series in which we visit each COST country in alphabetical order to highlight its achievements in the COST Programme.
