17 June 2010 | CMST
Professor Dieter Schinzer elected for a second term

Prof. Schinzer was unanimously re-elected as the Chair of the CMST Domain Committee at the Meeting held in Limassol, Cyprus on June 3 2010.

The entire committee acknowledged his fantastic work as the Chair in the past four years.

Prof. Schinzer's re-election was confirmed in the framework of the CMST Annual Progress Conference (Cyprus, 3 to 5 June 2010). The meeting presented the outstanding results achieved over the past year in fields ranging from biomass transformation to atomic physics. The Domain Committee unanimously agreed that this year's Annual Progress Conference was - without doubt - the most successful conference in the history of the CMST domain.

In particular, the involvement of industry with CMST COST Actions is rapidly growing: more than 25 industrial partners are now involved in CMST Actions. Concurrently, the level of impact on relevant publications is very high: approximately 20 joint publications appear every year per Action). Patents applications are also growing due to the positive impact of the CMST Domain: approximately 20 applications are made every year.

“The level of science presented was at the level of an excellent international conference”, said Prof. Schinzer. His election as Chair of the CMST Domain Committee was held only a few days after the approval of the updated Rules of Procedure for a COST Domain Committee by the CSO at its 178th meeting in Riga, Latvia. The updated Rules of Procedure are available on the Domains and Actions page.
