Bulgaria participates in more than running COST Actions and is active in every COST Domain with a particular involvement in the FA, ISCH, ESSEM and MPNS Domains.
The wide ranging contribution that Bulgaria has made through participation in COST Actions includes improved quality and production of European berries, discovering new natural products as a source for discovery, synthesis and application of new pharmaceuticals, as well as tracking the impact of the internet on the mass media in Europe.

Furthermore, Bulgaria has contributed to the search for new concepts and materials for the lighting industry for the 21st Century, investigating cultural sustainability and highlighting the linkages between aging societies and children's welfare.
Further information on all the COST Actions which Bulgaria both chairs and participates in can be found on the new COST country page.

This country focus fits in a summer series in which we visit each COST country in alphabetical order to highlight its achievements in the COST Programme.
