Tinnitus Week 2018: Raising awareness together

Location TBC
Date 05 - 11 February 2018
Calendar file .vcs  .ics

During the entire week, organisations, clinics and laboratories from all over the world will work together to raise awareness of tinnitus.

Led by COST Action TINNET and partner organisations dealing with tinnitus and other hearing related issues (hyperacusis, hearing loss), the initiative is meant to spread awareness of this medical condition. Participants will have the chance to attend local events, tinnitus information days, and science communication activities.

Get involved

In preparation for the event, the organisers would like to hear what activities potential participants are planning. All planned activities will be shared on the Tinnitus Week website,  in December 2017. In order to have your information featured on www.tinnitusweek.com , send your organisation's information (name and logo) as well as details about your activities to join@tinnitusweek.com   by 30 November 2017 . All activities that boosts tinnitus awareness are welcome.

Other activities communicated after that date will be posted on the website in the build-up to the event, by 5 February 2018.

TINNET - one step closer to a tinnitus cure

The COST networks bring together more than 200 tinnitus researchers from 30 European countries to identify and understand the neurobiology behind different tinnitus subtypes and the impact on treatment response.

To date, it has established an international tinnitus database aimed at helping researchers identify tinnitus subtypes and their neurobiological underpinnings and it has initiated revolutionary research into the genetics of tinnitus. TINNET has also developed the first protocol for the standardisation of tinnitus outcome measures
