Relationship between genome and epigenome Joint Workshop

Location European Commission, SDR1 conference room
Date 14 - 15 February 2013
Calendar file .vcs  .ics

This COST and European Commission Research & Innovation Framework Programme workshop brought together scientists from the COST Actions and from the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) to discuss the link between genome and epigenome.

It also discussed the role of both factors in cancer, aging, periconception environment, allergy and inflammation. It explored new technologies and the key challenges in data analysis. The workshop also tried to align the current European efforts with those of the International Human Epigenome Consortium (IHEC), which is coordinating Epigenome mapping and characterisation worldwide to avoid redundant research effort and explore possible synergies between COST and the Framework Programme.

This was an opportunity for young and emerging principal investigators to network with the established leaders in the field.
