COST FP0603 Spring School 2011 "Modeling Forest Ecosystems - Concepts, Data, and Application".
The purpose of the Modeling Spring School 2011 was to bring together high quality Ph.D. Students and Post Docs (not more than 1 year after graduation) interested in forest ecosystem modeling. There were lectures, group work in the field and classroom and demonstrations of existing models. In addition each accepted candidate was asked to prepare a poster about her/his modeling work for the poster session. Each student was given an assignment according to his/her work (objectives and data available) in which the student worked during the sessions on model applications and problem solving potential. During the last day, the students presented the results of their work followed by a general discussion.
