Beate Trück from the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA) joined this February’s COST Seminar.
She defined the meaning of venture philanthropy and its key characteristics. She also gave a brief description of EVPA and its activities and present a couple of case studies from EVPA members who use venture philanthropy in research funding.
Beate, a German national who has lived in Brussels for the past 10 years, has a strong track-record of working at a high level with European institutions. She has also managed and coordinated European networks and has a wide experience as a volunteer in Nicaragua, Switzerland and France. Since December 2000, she has been the Brussels office director of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, a German applied research organisation. Previously, she was network coordinator for MENON (Multimedia Education Innovation Network) in Brussels.
