COST was a partner of the World Research and Innovation Congress - Oceans. The Congress featured a series of topics: - Important policy issues facing oceans research. - Horizon 2020 funding opportunities. - International collaboration and partnership, with special emphasis on trans-regional networks, ocean partnerships and the Iceland Oceans Cluster. - The future of marine research.

Dr Ángeles Rodríguez Peña, President of the COST Association, was part of the Panel Session 'Funding Agencies' to speak about COST networking support to researchers.

Dr Deniz Karaca, COST Science Officer specialised in Marine Science, hosted a roundtable to explain COST's funding mechanism, networking opportunities and the achievable impact when establishing a COST Action.

Prof. Luís Pinheiro, MC member of COST Action ES1301, spoke in the session 'Marine Ecosystems' about extreme ecosystems associated with cold seeps in the Gulf of Cadiz, the South Portuguese Margin and the Alboran sea.

The COST info stand offered participants the opportunity to learn more about COST or to become acquainted with COST for the first time.
