Understanding pre-industrial structures in rural and mining landscapes
Descriptions are provided by the Actions directly via e-COST.
During the last decades, several factors have contributed to the qualitative changes of certain landscapes characterised by the development of traditional activities and of rural settlement. The elements attached to pre-industrial activities are particularly sensitive. The Action aims to identify and evaluate preindustrial elements in the European landscape, threatened by the abandonment of traditional agricultural and mining activities.
