Annette Borchsenius

Ms Annette Borchsenius holds a degree in International Business from INSEAD Business School in Paris and a master’s degree in Law from the University of Copenhagen.

She started her career in 1985 in the Danish Ministry of Industry working on legal matters and international conventions. From 1994 to 1998 she worked in the Danish Bar and Law Society as Secretary of the Board and Advisor to the Secretary General. 

In 1998 Borchsenius was appointed Director of EuroCenter, an organisation under the Danish Ministry of Industry. In this capacity, she was manager of the Danish EuroInfoCenter, the Innovation Relay Centre, as well as the Researchers’ Mobility Assistance Centre in Denmark. Nine years later, she became Head of Division in the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science, where she was responsible for the Danish participation in European research projects under the European Framework programmes. 

As of 2014, Borchsenius has been Senior Advisor in the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. She is responsible for the Danish participation in the Joint Research Centre (JRC), where she is President since mid 2014, and in the Knowledge and Innovation Centres (KIC). She is Danish representative in the European Institute of Technology (EIT) and in the European Commission’s High Level Group on Joint Programming (GPC). Through her CSO and CNC positions, Borchsenius is responsible for COST in Denmark and she is part of the COST Association’s Executive Board. In early 2016 she was appointed Vice-President of the COST Association.
